NPHCDA North East Zone, Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare and Improving Health Outcomes

—

The Executive Director and CEO of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Muyi Aina, recently visited the North East Zone to assess the operations and facilities under the agency’s management.

His visit included an inspection of the Agency’s zonal office and the Zonal Cold Store, where he reviewed the working conditions and checked on the status of key commodities stored at the facility, on Wednesday.

The primary purpose of his tour was to ensure that all essential supplies were in good condition and that the working environment met the required standards.

“This assessment was important for maintaining the efficiency of the region’s healthcare delivery, especially concerning the storage and distribution of vaccines and other critical health materials.”

In addition to inspecting the facilities, Dr. Aina took the opportunity to meet with staff from the NPHCDA North East Zonal office, including state officers working in the region.

During this meeting, he expressed his appreciation for the staff’s dedication and hard work in supporting various health programs, particularly efforts to reduce the number of zero-dose children (children who have not received any vaccines), improve routine immunization rates, and reduce maternal and child mortality rates.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by staff working in a region with significant healthcare needs and thanked them for their professionalism and resilience in carrying out their duties.

Dr. Aina emphasized the critical role they play in the success of national health programs and the well-being of the population in the North East.

Furthermore, Dr. Aina reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare and working conditions of all NPHCDA staff.

He addressed several concerns raised by the staff, pledging to adopt an open-door policy in line with the agency’s strategic blueprint.

He stressed the importance of communication between staff and leadership to ensure that challenges are addressed promptly and solutions are implemented effectively.
