Skepta Calls Out the UK Music Scene

British Grime artist Skepta has voiced his frustration with the current state of the UK music industry, calling it “sad, segregated, and controlled by cabals.”

Taking to his X account (formerly Twitter), Skepta wrote, “The UK music scene is sad. Smallest, most segregated, label run, crabs in a barrel scene of all scenes smh.”

As one of the pioneers of the UK Grime genre, Skepta’s words carry significant weight. Born to Nigerian parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adenuga, he has long been a prominent figure in shaping the British music landscape.
