Borno Commissioner Honored for Excellence in Educational Programs at National Council on Education

At the 68th National Council on Education (NCE) meeting, Borno State’s Commissioner for Education, Lawan Abba Wakilbe, received high praise for his exceptional performance in implementing educational programs and policies on Wednesday.

The NCE, which is Nigeria’s top decision-making body in the education sector, gathered representatives from all states across the country to assess and discuss key educational developments and outcomes.

The Federal Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, recognized Wakilbe, along with the education commissioners from Enugu and Ebonyi States, for their outstanding contributions to the field.

As a token of appreciation for their hard work and success in driving educational advancements, each commissioner was presented with two additional digital tablets.

Lawan Abba Wakilbe was represented at the event by Professor Bulama Kagu, Chairman of the Borno State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). While receiving the commendation, Professor Kagu dedicated the award to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum.

He emphasized that Governor Zulum’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the educational system in Borno State had been the driving force behind their collective achievements.

Wakilbe expressed gratitude for the governor’s support, which has enabled the Ministry of Education to make significant strides toward improving the quality of education in the state.

Wakilbe also took the opportunity to acknowledge and commend the hard work and dedication of the ministry’s staff.

He noted that their relentless efforts to execute the governor’s vision for education reform had been instrumental in earning such prestigious recognition at the national level.

This commendation is expected to further inspire the Ministry of Education in Borno State to continue its pursuit of excellence.

The recognition will likely bolster efforts to raise education standards, ensuring a brighter future for students and teachers alike across the state.

Through collaborative efforts and continued focus on innovation and quality, Borno’s education system is on a path to sustained improvement and success.
