Elon Musk is gifting voters in swing states by offering $47 to those who sign a petition supporting Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
This initiative aims to bolster support for the America PAC, a group aligned with Trump that promotes freedom of speech and the right to bear arms.
Musk’s campaign targets registered voters in critical states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, which are pivotal in determining the next U.S. president.
The petition seeks to gather data from potential supporters, encouraging them to vote early.
While initial reports suggested Musk was contributing $45 million monthly to the PAC, he later indicated his donations would be at a reduced rate.
A source involved with America PAC revealed that Musk’s decision to offer $47 to participants was made personally, aiming to increase voter turnout among Trump supporters, particularly in Pennsylvania.
“Sign our petition to support the Constitution!” Mr Musk wrote on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Also earn $47 for every person you refer to sign the petition if they’re in a swing state.“Goal is to get 1 [million] voters in swing states to show support for free speech & right to bear arms.
”He wrote in a later post: “For every person you refer who is a swing state voter, you get $47! Easy money.”
Musk, who endorsed Trump in July following a violent incident at a rally, has shifted his political stance since voting for Joe Biden in 2020.
At a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he appeared with Trump, Musk criticized Biden and the Democratic agenda, portraying the current administration as a threat to constitutional freedoms.
