Ahmed Musa Marks NPFL Return with a Brace for Kano Pillars

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa marked his NPFL return with a brace for his boyhood club, Kano Pillars, during their matchday 5 clash against Sunshine Stars at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

The 31-year-old, as previously reported by The News Chronicle, joined the Sai Masu Gida as a free agent alongside fellow Super Eagles defender, Shehu Abdullahi. The club announced that both players would be available for the match against Sunshine Stars.

Musa, who started the game, scored his brace in the 5th and 51st minutes of the first and second halves, respectively. He came close to a hat trick, but missed from the spot, denying him a third goal.

After the game, Ahmed Musa expressed his gratitude to the club’s management and supporters on his Facebook page:

“Back in familiar colors, and it feels so good! Grateful to the entire backroom staff, my teammates, and the management of Kano Pillars FC for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to return. To the amazing supporters and everyone who came out to watch, thank you for the love and energy! Scoring two goals and earning that penalty was just the start—we’ve got a lot more coming! This is only the beginning.”

The struggling Pillars, who had not won any of their last three games, have now moved up to 8th position on the log with two wins and a draw after five games.
