EPL: Liverpool Leapfrog Palace as Arsenal and Manchester City Secure Comeback Wins

The English Premier League matchday seven saw some of its big teams fighting hard for victories over their opponents today.

Liverpool and Manchester City won by a one-goal margin, while Arsenal secured victory with a two-goal difference.

Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace, delivering another terrific performance despite a sloppy second half after completely dominating Palace in the first half. Diogo Jota’s early brilliance was enough for the Reds, who snatched a massive three points and a clean sheet away from home.

It’s Arne Slot’s 6th Premier League win in 7 games, making it the best start among Liverpool managers in history. Klopp’s successor has also shown impressive results in defense, with the team conceding only two goals in all EPL games this season, the fewest of any team so far.

It almost became a nightmare for Mikel Arteta, whose team was held to a goalless draw at halftime by bottom-placed Southampton at the Fly Emirates. Ten minutes into the second half, it seemed unlikely that Arsenal could win when Cameron Archer scored for the visitors. Fortunately for the Gunners, they bounced back with goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli, securing a 3-1 victory at home.

Manchester City were almost put in disarray after conceding first to Andreas Pereira’s goal for Fulham. City responded by scoring to level before the end of the first half. Kovacic completed his brace, having scored City’s equalizer in the first half. In the 82nd minute, Jeremy Doku extended City’s lead to 3-1. However, City’s celebration was short-lived as Rodrigo Muniz reduced Fulham’s deficit to 3-2. It was all smiles for the Sky Blues, who maintained their lead until full-time.
