UCL: Boniface Scores, Arsenal beats PSG; City, Inter, Dortmund and Barcelona Secure Big Wins

It was another show of mighty victories for Europe’s elite clubs over their opponents during matchday 2 of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League group stage games.

It took Arsenal half an hour and five minutes to score the decisive goal that put them ahead of visitors PSG at the Emirates Stadium. Goals from familiar names, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, secured a resounding 2-0 victory for Arsenal.

Barcelona returned to winning ways following their disappointing performance away at Osasuna over the weekend in La Liga. They pummeled Young Boys 5-0. Robert Lewandowski scored a brace, while Martinez and Raphinha—who was voted Man of the Match—also found the back of the net for the Catalan side.

Bayer Leverkusen edged AC Milan with a lone goal, thanks to Victor Boniface, who struck the only goal that separated both teams. It’s a dream come true for the Nigerian international, who made his debut last week and has now scored his first goal in the tournament.

Borussia Dortmund were merciless against Celtic of Scotland after a superb 7-1 home victory. Karim Adeyemi scored twice and was voted Man of the Match. Guirassy added two more, while Emre Can and Nmecha completed the rout for the Black and Yellow side.

Manchester City recorded an emphatic away victory against Slavia Bratislava. In that game, Premier League Player of the Season, Phil Foden, along with Gündogan, Haaland, and McAtee, scored for the Citizens.

Inter and Brest were teams that staged emphatic victories over their opponents. PSV and Sporting CP settled for a draw, as did Stuttgart and Sparta Praha.
