Comedians Ayo Makun and Basketmouth End 17-Year Feud with Heartfelt Birthday Exchange

Award-winning comedians Ayo Makun and Basketmouth have finally reconciled after years of tension.

On September 14th, 2024, Basketmouth celebrated his 46th birthday with a lively post on Instagram. To everyone’s surprise, Ayo Makun responded with a heartfelt tribute, marking the end of their 17-year feud, which was rumored to have started over an unpaid debt.

Basketmouth’s playful caption, “Say hello to the Birthday Boy. Life begins @ 46,” showed his vibrant spirit as he embraced this new chapter of his life. In an unexpected but heartwarming gesture, Ayo Makun left a comment referring to Basketmouth as “Eze Gburugburu 1” (a respectful title in Igbo culture).

Makun’s message was filled with well-wishes, encouraging his former rival to enjoy his special day to the fullest. He wrote:

“Happy birthday, my bro.

I wish you a fantastic birthday filled with joy and laughter! May your hard work and dedication continue to pay off. May this year bring you new adventures, exciting opportunities, and all the success you deserve. Enjoy your special day to the fullest. Eze Gburugburu 1 for a reason.”

Basketmouth, clearly appreciative of the kind words, responded with a simple but meaningful message:

“Thank you so much, bro. I appreciate you.”

After nearly two decades of tension, the public exchange between the two comedians shows that peace is always possible, and sometimes, it begins with a simple birthday wish.

Peace is the Way Forward!
