The catastrophic floods that have ravaged parts of Maiduguri have entered their fourth day, causing widespread destruction and immense human suffering.

Millions of residents have been displaced from their homes, as entire neighborhoods have been submerged under rising floodwaters.
Tragically, the death toll continues to rise, with hundreds of people losing their lives as rescue efforts struggle to keep up with the scale of the disaster.
Meanwhile, the body of Ibrahim M., affectionately known as Chocho, a customs officer, was recovered today, He tragically lost his life while bravely rescuing flood victims on Lagos Street in Maiduguri.
Many survivors are left stranded, with little access to food, clean water, or medical assistance.
Emergency services are overwhelmed, and there are growing concerns about the spread of waterborne diseases in affected areas.
The flooding, described as one of the worst in the city’s history, has not only destroyed homes but also wiped out livelihoods, with farmlands and businesses swept away in the deluge.
Authorities are calling for urgent assistance from both national and international organizations to help manage the crisis, provide relief to the affected, and prevent further loss of life.
The full extent of the damage remains unclear as rescue teams continue to battle treacherous conditions in their efforts to reach those in need.
