Selena Gomez, the renowned American singer and actress, has recently opened up about a deeply personal aspect of her life.
In a candid interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez revealed that due to her health challenges, she is unable to carry her own children.
Gomez shared, “I haven’t ever said this publicly before, but I want to be honest about my situation.
Unfortunately, I can’t carry my own children because of serious medical issues that could endanger both my life and the baby’s. This was something I had to come to terms with and grieve for a while.”
She continued, “I always imagined having children in the traditional way, like most people do. It’s not what I had envisioned, but I’m in a much better place now.
I see it as a blessing that there are wonderful options like surrogacy and adoption available. These are both viable and exciting possibilities for me.”
Despite the unexpected turn in her journey to motherhood, Gomez remains hopeful and enthusiastic about the future.
“I’m looking forward to the path that lies ahead, even though it will be different from what I originally imagined. What matters most is that it will be my unique journey, and that’s what makes it special,” she explained.
In the interview, Gomez also reflected on her personal life, noting that before meeting her current boyfriend, she spent five years single, with only a few dates in between.
“During that time, I really focused on what was most important to me. And for me, family has always been at the top of that list,” she said.
