Suspected bandits launched a violent attack in the Zone A area of Ushafa, a community within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, on Thursday night.
The tragic incident occurred at the back of the primary school in the area, resulting in the death of a man identified as Mr. Felix Chuks.
The gunmen reportedly arrived around midnight, bringing terror to the neighborhood with a barrage of heavy gunfire.
According to residents, the sound of gunshots filled the air as the assailants executed their deadly plan, killing Mr. Chuks and abducting his wife and children.
Local sources mentioned that desperate attempts were made to contact the local vigilante group for help during the attack.
Unfortunately, these efforts were in vain as the men on duty failed to respond to calls, possibly overwhelmed by the intensity of the gunfire.
The attack has left the community in shock, and there are growing concerns about the increasing level of insecurity in the FCT, as this incident adds to the growing list of violent attacks that have taken place in the area in recent times.
