Aminu Tambuwal Visits Shagari Community, Calls for Federal Action Against Insecurity and Flooding

—

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State, visited the Palace of the District Head of Shagari to express his condolences to the community following recent banditry attacks and devastating flooding on Tuesday.
During the visit, he met with community leaders and residents to offer words of comfort and solidarity as they faced these dual challenges.
In his address, Senator Tambuwal called on the Federal Government to increase its efforts in addressing the insecurity plaguing Sokoto State and the nation as a whole.
He emphasized that the protection of lives and property should be the highest priority for governments at all levels.
“Insecurity is everybody’s business and should never be politicized,” Tambuwal remarked.
He also highlighted the link between insecurity and the current food shortage, stressing that the restoration of peace would naturally lead to improved food security across the region.
As the immediate past Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Tambuwal has a deep understanding of the security challenges facing the state.
He urged all stakeholders to come together in a united front to tackle the insecurity problem head-on.
According to Tambuwal, the fight against banditry and other forms of violence should be a collective effort, with collaboration between government agencies, community leaders, and the local populace to achieve meaningful results.
In addition to addressing the security concerns, Tambuwal also spoke about the ongoing flooding issues in the area, particularly concerning the Shagari Dam.
He assured the community that he would continue to advocate for Federal Government intervention to mitigate the effects of the floods, just as he had done during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives and Governor of Sokoto State.
He promised that relief materials would be distributed once the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) completed its assessment of the damage to homes and property.
The Senator was accompanied by leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State during his visit.
Together, they appealed to the people of Shagari to support and cooperate with the authorities and security agencies working to restore peace and order in the area.
Senator Tambuwal concluded his visit with a prayer, asking Almighty Allah to protect the community from future incidents of violence and natural disasters.
In response, the Wakilin Marafan Shagari, representing the District Head, expressed the community’s gratitude to Senator Tambuwal for his visit and support.
“We deeply thank you for your solidarity with us during this challenging time. Your presence here brings us comfort, and we pray for your continued success and prosperity in all your future endeavors,” he said, reflecting the community’s appreciation for the Senator’s efforts to stand by them in their time of need.
