Ossai Bemoans Misguided Metrics of Success

—

A scathing critique of the prevailing mindset among young individuals has been issued by Ossai Ovie Success, a renowned social commentator and aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.

Success lambasted the tendency to equate success solely with material possessions, such as cars and houses, labeling it “disappointing” and “misguided.”

In a searing indictment of this culture, Success argued that true success encompasses a broad spectrum of aspects, including personal growth, meaningful relationships, and contributions to society. The reduction of accomplishments to mere possessions, he asserted, undermines the value of hard work, dedication, and resilience.

Furthermore, Success warned of the perils of seeking validation through social media, which fosters a culture of superficiality and competition. This, he claimed, can be detrimental to mental health and well-being, as young people become fixated on projecting a curated image rather than focusing on genuine self-improvement.

In a call to action, Success urged young individuals to redefine success on their own terms, prioritizing substance over superficiality and cultivating a sense of purpose that extends beyond material possessions. Only then, he posited, can true fulfillment and lasting impact be achieved.

“Let us encourage young individuals to look beyond the fleeting allure of material possessions and social media validation, and instead, strive for a success that is meaningful, lasting, and truly fulfilling,” he wrote.
