Governor Otti Thanks Abia Residents for Avoiding Violent Protests and Urges Patience

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has thanked the people of Abia for not joining the protests against hunger and hardship happening in other parts of the country.

Governor Otti expressed his gratitude on Saturday while attending Sabbath worship at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Aba. He emphasized that there are peaceful ways to protest against hardship, but violence is not one of them.

“I want to thank you and the people of Abia for listening to my plea not to come out and disrupt services and activities, which could cause more harm,” he said. “It’s not that things aren’t tough—they are very tough. But two wrongs don’t make a right.”

He explained that many people in Abia earn their living day by day. Traders, Keke riders, barbers, and taxi drivers rely on their daily earnings to put food on the table. Disrupting their activities in the name of protest would only make things worse.

The Governor also mentioned that the school road in Aba will be fixed soon. He thanked the church members for their support and asked for continued prayers for him and his administration.

He assured everyone that his administration is working hard to improve the situation and asked for their continued patience and cooperation.
