Tinubu Presents Bold Economic Proposals to Quell Protests Around the Country

The president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has revealed a comprehensive strategy to raise economic growth, create jobs, and raise everyone’s level of living.

The President lamented the recent protests in Kano in a Sunday state broadcast, but he also stressed the need for cooperation and teamwork to create a better future.

The President declared that the 36 states would get an additional N570 billion in federal funding to support their inhabitants’ livelihoods.

“Additionally, 600,000 nano-businesses have benefited from the nano-grants program, with an additional 400,000 expected to benefit soon.”

“Furthermore, 75,000 beneficiaries have been processed to receive N1 million Micro and Small Business single-digit interest loans, starting this month. The government has also built 10 MSME hubs within the past year, creating 240,000 jobs, with five more hubs in progress.

The president announced that payments of N1 billion apiece are being provided to major manufacturers under the single-digit loans program in an effort to increase manufacturing output and spur growth.

The lowest-paid workers will now receive N70,000 per month, he said, adding that he also signed the National Minimum Wage into law last week.

Recall THE NEWS CHRONICLES reported that Nigerians took to the streets on Thursday, protesting against the widespread hunger and suffering in the country.

Through the course of the four days of protests, people from all walks of life have come together to voice their unhappiness and dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.

The demonstrators demanded that the government act quickly to solve the nation’s growing socioeconomic problems, including unemployment, rising living expenses, and other issues.

President Tinubu addressed the country on Sunday in reaction to the protests, recognising the suffering and annoyance of Nigerians.
