Bomb Explosion in Yobe Market: One Injured, Second Bomb Defused by Army

A suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated at the Buni Yadi market in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, causing widespread panic among residents and traders. 

The explosion occurred at approximately 12:30 pm on Friday, sparking immediate fear and chaos.

Ali Hassan, a local resident, reported to the press that the blast injured a young girl. Captain Muhammad Shehu, the spokesman for the Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed the incident and provided additional information.

According to Captain Shehu, a second Bomb was discovered in the market but was successfully detonated by the Army, thereby preventing further casualties and damage.

The sole victim of the initial explosion is currently receiving medical treatment at a healthcare facility in Buni Yadi.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to ensure the safety of the market and its patrons.
