Kwara State Governor Provides Financial Aid to Indigenes Affected by Lagos Market Fire

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has allocated N32.6 million to support Kwara State indigenes affected by the recent fire at Dosumu market in Lagos State.

The cheque, amounting to N32.6 million, was presented at the office of the General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), Dr. Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka, over the weekend.

The Chairman of the Committee designated to receive the fund, Mallam Abdulganiyu Sebutu, expressed his profound gratitude for the financial assistance.

Mallam Sebutu, speaking on behalf of the affected traders, described the governor’s action as “unprecedented magnanimity.”

He emphasized that the governor’s support illustrated his role as a caretaker for all Kwarans, both those residing in the state and those living elsewhere.

“We are at a loss for words, as this generous support came as a huge surprise to us all at a time when we thought all hope was lost,” said Sebutu. “This indeed is a testament to the governor’s people-oriented approach to governance. On behalf of all the beneficiaries, we are grateful, and we pray that almighty Allah will reward him abundantly.”

Accompanied by the Public Relations Officer of the Committee, Mallam Adelodun Babatunde Iponrin, Sebutu expressed their collective appreciation and highlighted the governor’s commitment to the welfare of all Kwarans.

In his remarks, Dr. Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka, the KWASSIP General Manager, reaffirmed the governor’s dedication to supporting Kwarans at all times.

He stated, “Today, we present a cheque of N32.6 million to the Kwara indigenes living in Lagos State, affected by the recent Dosumu market fire. This is a testament to Mallam Abdulrazaq’s priority for the welfare of all Kwarans across board, regardless of their locations.”

Dr. Olayinka further emphasized that the governor would continue to do everything within his power to ensure that every Kwara State indigene is included and supported in his administration’s efforts.
