Rema Arrives in India to Perform at Mukesh Ambani’s Son’s Wedding

Nigerian afrobeats star Rema has arrived in India to perform at the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.

On Thursday night, Rema shared a video on Instagram showing himself in an all-black outfit walking towards a private plane. He added the song ‘Azaman’ from his new album ‘He Is’ as background music and included an emoji of the Indian flag.

The Hindustan Times reports that Rema is being paid $3 million to perform his hit song ‘Calm Down’ at the wedding.

Justin Bieber was also paid $10 million to perform at the event, and pop star Rihanna performed for an undisclosed fee.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will get married on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai.

The four-day wedding celebration in Mumbai is the grand finale of a series of lavish parties the family has been hosting since March.

Several prominent figures, including Kim Kardashian, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish PM Carl Bildt, and former Canadian PM Stephen Harper, are expected to attend the wedding.
