Huawei To Build Smart Village In Uganda

Huawei has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art digital prototype village in Uganda.
This smart village will include a network tower station, solar power station, and smart classroom equipment.
This initiative is designed to support Uganda’s Parish Development Model (PDM) by providing advanced technological infrastructure at no financial cost to the government.
A key feature of the project is the Remote Diagnosis System, which will link village health centers with regional hospitals to enhance healthcare services in rural areas.
Additionally, Huawei plans to implement a digital cloud and Green Residential Smart Photovoltaics (PVs) to ensure a stable and sustainable power supply.
President Museveni has instructed Huawei to prepare a detailed proposal for further discussions, highlighting the potential impact of the project on Uganda’s digital infrastructure and sustainable development through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Sooma Mukyala Fouziya, a representative from Huawei, emphasized the project’s contribution to Uganda’s digital transformation.
Huawei’s broader commitment to the African market is further demonstrated by its “One Network One Cloud” initiative and plans to train 150,000 individuals in sub-Saharan Africa over the next three years.
Huawei’s recent projects in the Middle East and Africa, such as the Abuja Steel PV plant and partnerships with Telecom Egypt, reflects its dedication to meeting the region’s technological and market demands.
