Senate Passes North Central Development Commission Bill

The Senate on Thursday 4th July passed the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) bill for a third reading. 
This was in view of the consideration and adoption of a report of its committee on special duties, brought before  the Senate by its chairman, Senator Kaka Shehu.
The Bill was sponsored by the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Morro and co-sponsored by senators from the North Central region.
It was gathered that the bill was passed for first and second reading on October 5,  2023 and February 21, 2024 respectively.
The commission when established, would be saddled with the responsibility of receiving and managing funds from the federal government and donors to facilitate the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration and reconstruction of roads, houses and business premises of victims of flood and farmer-herder clashes in the north central region.
