Reports have it that an explosion at the Zungeru Hydro-Electric Power Dam has caused injuries to a Chinese engineer, security personnel, and several workers, and destroyed some installations.
Meantime, the cause of the explosion, which happened on the morning of Monday, July 1, is unknown as there have been no official reports about the incident.
It was gathered that the Chinese engineer was conducting a routine check when the explosion occurred, and those injured were taken to the Minna General Hospital.
According to a source who stated that the engineer was first admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital for treatment for burns on the head and hand due to the degree of the burns, added that he was referred to the IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna for advanced medical attention.
Meanwhile, as of press time, the number of workers and security personnel injured during the incident are currently unknown.
