Canadian singer Celine Dion has promised that she won’t let Stiff Person Syndrome stop her from performing again.
In an interview on the Today Show, the 56-year-old singer told Hoda Kotb that she is determined to return to the stage, even if it means crawling or using her hands to communicate.
“I’m going to go back on stage, even if I have to crawl. Even if I have to talk with my hands, I will. I will,” she said.
Dion revealed that she had been secretly battling Stiff Person Syndrome for 17 years before she made it public in 2022. She shared that she had been experiencing symptoms since 2008 and described the condition as feeling like she’s “being strangled.”
Despite the challenges, including frequent cramps and even breaking some ribs, Dion remains determined and hopeful about performing again.
