President Tinubu Vows Economic Restructuring and Commitment to Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his dedication to the Nigerian people, promising to always prioritize their needs and concerns, on Wednesday.
Speaking in a national address commemorating Nigeria’s 25th democracy anniversary, Tinubu emphasized the necessity of enduring short-term economic hardships for long-term stability.
Acknowledging the ongoing economic challenges, Tinubu stressed the importance of implementing reforms to strengthen the nation’s economic foundation.
He assured the public that his administration would continue to engage with citizens and consider their feedback in the reform process.
“As we continue to reform the economy, I shall always listen to the people and will never turn my back on you.”
Addressing the recent negotiations with organized labor regarding a new national minimum wage, Tinubu assured that the government had negotiated in good faith.
He announced plans to present an executive bill to the National Assembly, enshrining the agreed-upon wage for the next five years or less.
Tinubu emphasized the significance of both political and economic democracy in driving the country towards a brighter future. Quoting former American President Franklin Roosevelt, he highlighted the importance of progress and warned against complacency.
“We dare not slumber lest the good things awaiting our immediate future pass us by. We dare not plant our feet in idle standstill in the middle of the intersection of hope and despair.”
In a call to action, Tinubu urged Nigerians to join hands in moving the nation forward. He expressed optimism for the future, citing the potential for growth and development through democracy and institutional strength.
“Let us board this progressive train together. Together, let us move Nigeria forward.
“Let’s continue to keep the fire of democracy burning. Let’s keep the torch lit for generations to come.”
As the nation navigates through challenges, Tinubu concluded by encouraging unity and perseverance, emphasizing the collective responsibility to keep the flame of democracy burning bright for future generations.
