I Have a Clear Conscience – Xavi

In the wake of his dismissal from FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez has spoken out about his time at the club and his departure.

The former head coach addressed the media with a composed and reflective demeanor, expressing pride in his contributions and understanding of the club’s decision.

I’m fine. They have been difficult days, but I have a clear conscience,” Xavi stated. “I am proud and happy. It’s been two and a half years.”

He shared his sentiments with the staff and players, asserting that despite the challenges, they should be proud of their efforts.

Today I spoke with the staff and the players that I think we can be proud, because it was not an easy situation.”

Xavi acknowledged the hard work and dedication that marked his tenure, even though the team did not meet its objectives this year. “We have given everything. We have been men of the club and a good job has been done, although this year the objectives have not been met.”

Reflecting on his conversation with the club’s president, Xavi explained, “Yesterday we spoke with the president, he told me his reasons why he believes the coach needs to be changed. I can only accept it, he is the one who makes all the decisions of the club.”

Despite the decision, Xavi remains loyal to Barcelona. “I will always be at Barça’s disposal. We shook hands, a hug, and we wish each other the best. I will be another culé and I wish the best for the president, the sports director, and the players.”

Expressing gratitude towards the club’s leadership, Xavi emphasized his adaptability and acceptance of the president’s decision. “I am grateful to the president and I have not had any problems with the leaders. I am a club man and I have adapted to the circumstances. The president gave me his reasons and I have no choice but to accept his decision.”

Xavi reiterated that the decision was made with the club’s future in mind. “They have decided this thinking because they believe they need a change of direction at the club. I was still motivated and had my ambition intact with this squad, but it couldn’t be.”

Looking back on his time at Barcelona, Xavi expressed no regrets. “I have had to make very important decisions, I don’t regret anything. I have been very honest and sincere. I have given my all, we have worked with honor and love for this club.”

In his closing remarks, Xavi conveyed his emotional farewell. “Thank you all, even if you don’t believe it, I will miss you.” Addressing his contract, he assured there would be no issues. “Will I forgive my last year contract? There will be no problem, I already said it at the time.”
