According to Nigeria’s Minister for Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, the ministry will embark on creating the Baseball/Softball Federation by extending its alliance to Chief Coach Mr. Aina Sunday Oluwafemi, who visited the Minister’s office.
On his official Facebook page, Mr. Enoh, while praising Chief Coach Aina Oluwafemi, asserted that the Sports Ministry will support Mr. Oluwafemi in establishing the federation soon:
“Nigerians are known for setting records and breaking boundaries. In sports, we have seen this fact proven time and time again.” Aina Sunday Oluwafemi, an Umpire in Chief/Coach in Baseball & Softball, has earned international recognition and has the capacity to officiate the game worldwide.
“Although Baseball isn’t yet federated, as Sports Minister, we have extended all necessary alliances to Mr. Aina, who seeks to begin the process, thereby creating more opportunities in the sports ecosystem for Nigerians to thrive and excel.”
The Minister also mentioned that a delegation from World City Limited was received, with discussions focused on improving the sports industry in Nigeria:
“On May 7, 2024, we received a delegation from the World City Limited project team, led by Mr. Idris Adama. The team’s vision is to develop an arena that will boost the sports industry in Nigeria. These initiatives are welcomed, and we will do everything as a ministry to provide the needed support.”
