Shehu Sani Calls for Resolution in Israel-Iran Conflict

—

In a recent statement on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani emphasized the urgent need for a global solution to the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.

Sani highlighted the extensive historical support Israel has received from Western countries in its multiple conflicts, while noting that Iran has faced 44 years of sanctions and survived an eight-year war against a Western-backed neighbor.

According to Sani, both nations are deeply entrenched in their respective ideologies, with Israel’s actions often supported by the West, and Iran shaped by the spirit of its revolution following the overthrow of the Shah in 1979.

He pointed out that neither Israel nor Iran are Christian states, suggesting that their conflicts are not influenced by religious affiliations with Western Christianity.

“The earlier the World finds a solution to this problem the better,” Sani wrote, underscoring the potential for ongoing conflict if the international community fails to act.

His statement reflects a call for a nuanced approach to understanding and addressing the deep-seated issues between these two nations, beyond mere political or military support.

Sani’s comments come at a time when geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to draw international concern, with many leaders and diplomats looking for pathways to stability and peace in the region.
