The entertainment industry was hit with another tragedy yesterday and this has got many people talking. It was a very avoidable death but there was no precautionary measures available.
In response to the tragic death of Junior Pope, who drowned in a river in Anam, Anambra state, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has taken decisive action against producer Adamma Luke.Â
Many people on social media criticized Luke for allegedly not providing life jackets for the actor, sparking outrage. As a result, the AGN has decided to indefinitely halt the filming of movies set in riverine areas.
This move aims to ensure the safety of actors and prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future. Additionally, all movie shoots across the nation scheduled for Thursday, April 11, have been suspended.Â
Furthermore, the AGN has issued a directive prohibiting actors from working with Adamma Luke as a producer on any movie projects. This measure underscores the seriousness with which the AGN is addressing safety concerns within the industry.Â
The AGN’s actions come in response to the public outcry over Junior Pope’s tragic death and serve as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety in movie productions.Â
The guild’s decision to suspend filming in riverine areas and restrict collaboration with certain producers reflects its commitment to protecting its members and ensuring a safe working environment for all actors.
