The parents of the 91 remaining Chibok schoolgirls who were abducted in 2014 have reached out to Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the President, seeking her assistance.
In an open letter titled “A Plea for Justice and Remembering the Chibok Girls – A Letter to Her Excellency Mrs. Remi Tinubu,” the parents expressed their ongoing anguish and pain over the abduction, which has haunted them for over a decade.
Despite the passage of time, they emphasized that for them, the pain is as raw as ever, and the wounds refuse to heal.
Signed by Yana Galang and Mallam Zanna on behalf of the Chibok Parents Association and those whose children are still missing, the letter highlights the continued struggle and hope for the safe return of their daughters.
They acknowledge that while the world may have moved on, they remain steadfast in their determination to see their daughters brought back home safely.
The parents implore Mrs. Tinubu to utilize her influence and platform to ensure that the plight of the Chibok girls is never forgotten.
“We have not lost hope, Your Excellency. We have not given up on our daughters, and we will continue to fight for their freedom until they are brought back to us.
“We urge you to use your influence and your platform to ensure that the plight of the Chibok girls is never forgotten, that justice is served, and that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable.”
They seek justice for the perpetrators of this heinous act and plead for accountability. In a heartfelt plea, they humbly request an opportunity to meet with her, seeking her assistance and advocacy in securing the safe return of their daughters.
Their letter is a poignant reminder of the ongoing suffering endured by the families of the abducted girls and serves as a call to action for continued support and empathy from those in positions of power.
It is a plea for solidarity and a commitment to never forget the 276 girls who were taken from their school that fateful night.
“humbly ask for an opportunity to meet with you, to seek your assistance in advocating for the safe return of our daughters. We ask for your empathy and your understanding as we navigate through this unimaginable pain. We ask for your commitment to standing by us and never forgetting the 276 girls who were taken from their school that night.”
