“Chelsea Has not Seen the Real Me Yet” -Enzo

Chelsea player, Enzo Fernández, believes he has not yet displayed his full potential in the Premier League since joining Chelsea.

The Argentine revealed that he is working towards replicating his World Cup-winning form in an exclusive interview with Chelsea TV. 

“I’m trying to get there, to the version of me that you saw at the World Cup,” he explains. “I want to feel like that Enzo that was playing at the World Cup. I want to get back there.

“I feel good, getting better each day, but I still don’t feel like I’m at 100%. I’m still adapting, and I still don’t feel entirely like myself, but I’m trying to get there as quickly as possible and working hard every day to do so.

“It won’t be easy because the World Cup has been and gone, and I’m still growing as a player and developing my skills, but I’m looking for that Enzo. I want to feel completely myself again.

Enzo, who joined the club 14 months ago, made his debut for Chelsea during a goalless draw against Fulham on 3 February 2023. Since then, he has featured prominently, with only Conor Gallagher and Axel Disasi making more league appearances for the club in the 2023/24 season.

While acknowledging the Premier League as the best in the world, Enzo admits to facing challenges in adapting to the league during the last six months.

“In my opinion, the Premier League is the best in the world. It is incredibly dynamic with numerous quality players. The intensity and atmosphere are unparalleled. I always watched the Premier League on television, and now that I am experiencing it firsthand, it’s truly incredible. The first six months were difficult for me as I found it challenging to adapt. However, I now feel much more prepared than I was at the beginning. I am thoroughly enjoying being here.”

“Perhaps I am still not at 100% and haven’t fully showcased my potential, but beyond that, I absolutely love being at such a prestigious club like Chelsea. Every weekend, I relish playing in the Premier League with such passionate fans supporting us. This experience means a lot to me.”

This season, Enzo has been capped 38 times in all competitions and has contributed 10 goals. He holds the distinction of being the most capped player under Pochettino, second only to Axel Disasi and Conor Gallagher in Chelsea’s squad for the current season.
