Zulum visits AfDB to expedite inclusive basic service delivery

—

Babagana Umara Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, went to visit the African Development Bank (AfDB) office in Abuja on Tuesday 26, March 2024.

He wanted to make sure that a project called the Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Project (IBSDLEIP) would happen quickly in Borno State.

This project is supposed to help the state recover from the problems caused by insurgents in the northeast part of Nigeria.

The IBSDLEIP project is big and covers many different things. It wants to make life better for the poor and vulnerable people in Borno.

It wants to help them get things like clean water, good toilets, healthcare, and education. It also wants to help them find ways to make money and grow food so they can be safer and more secure.

When Governor Zulum met with the people from the AfDB, he talked a lot about why it’s so important to get this project going fast.

He especially talked about how they could make things better by using smarter ways to get water. Right now, big wells in Maiduguri, the biggest city in Borno, use generators to pump water.

Zulum thinks they should use better technology that saves money and helps the environment.

Some important people went with Governor Zulum to the AfDB office. There was the State APC Chairman, Bello Ayuba, who leads the political party in Borno.

Also, there was Hon. Inuwa Kubo, who used to be in charge of education in Borno. And there was Engr Dr Mohammed Musa Aliyu, who manages the IBSDLEIP project and works for the government agency that deals with water and sanitation in Borno.

They all went to help Governor Zulum talk about why this project is so important for Borno’s future.
