Kofi Adjorlolo queries Ghana stations airing Nigerian films

—

The battle between these two sister countries is not ending in just jollof and music it has gone to the movie industry as well

Acting icon Kofi Adjorlolo of Ghana recently expressed his worries over Ghanaian TV stations showing Nigerian films on local channels without the required permission.

Adjorlolo has become well-known in Ghana’s film business after a multi-decade career. He has strongly criticized this rampant practice, claiming that it violates the rights of Nigerian filmmakers and damages the Ghanaian film sector.

Adjorlolo criticized Ghanaian TV stations for their careless attitude to airing Nigerian films in an interview on Hit FM’s DayBreak Hitz. He emphasized the negative consequences this has on players from Ghana and the industry at large.

Adjorlolo expressed his dissatisfaction with this practice, pointing out that because Nigerian producers can easily find and distribute their films in Ghana, they fail to recognize Ghanaian talent.

Adjorlolo, who is now filming in Nigeria, disclosed that he is not happy with Ghanaian TV stations and streaming services for airing Nigerian films without the required authorization. He claims that many Nigerian producers feel the same way.

He called on local networks to immediately stop this practice, highlighting the financial losses incurred by Ghanaian actors as a result of this illicit distribution. Adjorlolo stressed how crucial it is to abide by international copyright and intellectual property regulations.

The remarks made by Adjorlolo highlight how crucial it is for the entertainment sector to uphold copyright laws and protect intellectual property rights.

The rights of Nigerian filmmakers are violated when their films are aired without permission, and the legitimacy of legitimate content distribution platforms is also weakened.
