Tech Giants Invest Heavily in Figure AI, a Startup Pioneering Human-Like Robots

—

In a significant move, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, along with Nvidia and other prominent tech companies, is backing Figure AI, a startup focused on creating robots that mimic human characteristics.
Figure AI is in the process of securing an impressive $675 million in funding, with a pre-money valuation set at $2 billion.
Jeff Bezos has committed $100 million, Microsoft is investing $95 million, and both Nvidia and an Amazon-affiliated fund are contributing $50 million each.
This surge in investments mirrors the growing interest in AI startups, notably sparked by the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in November 2022.
OpenAI, also supported by Figure AI, is investing $5 million in this venture.
Additional backers include Intel, LG Innotek, Samsung, Parkway Venture Capital, Align Ventures, ARK Venture Fund, Aliya Capital Partners, and Tamarack.
It’s worth noting that Figure AI previously raised $70 million in a funding round led by Parkway Venture Capital.
Despite the excitement around these developments, companies mentioned, such as Amazon, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Intel, have chosen to remain tight-lipped, declining to provide any comments.
