Reports say a yet-to-be identified lady has abandoned her newborn baby girl at a waterside in Akwanga Local Government of Nasarawa State.
Sources revealed that the incident occured on Friday 2 February 2024 at the Youth Centre area of Akwanga town, Akwanga LGA of the State.
It was gathered that the infant who was shrouded in a brown-colored carton and dumped at the riverside, died following intense exposure to cold.
As of press time, the newborn has since been buried at the Council’s burial ground.
Meanwhile, the matter has been reported to the Nigerian police in the area for further investigations.
