In recent events, certain groups of criminals suspected to be members of cults have unleashed terror upon residents in Lagos and Borno States, causing growing concerns among the affected communities.

The Igando area in Lagos witnessed a disturbing clash between two rival cult groups, resulting in gunfire and chaos.

Following the violent confrontation, the Nigeria Police Force, specifically the Igando Division, took swift action by apprehending two individuals, namely Hammed Olawale (20 years old) and Japhet Oderinde (23 years old).

They were arrested for their involvement in shooting a 26-year-old man named Abeeb Fagbohun, believed to be a member of a rival group.

The police recovered a locally fabricated semiautomatic pistol along with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition from the suspects.

A grim incident occurred in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, where the lifeless body of a young man in his early 20s was discovered on a refuse dump on Sunday.

The victim’s hands were tied behind his back, and evident signs of brutalization pointed to a suspected cult clash.

The distressing scene unfolded in the vicinity of Iorpuu Adai Street, Nyiman Layout, HUDCO quarters in Makurdi.

The victim, identified as a person with a dark complexion, bore the cruel aftermath of the assault with one ear missing, showcasing the brutality of the incident.

His attackers callously placed his body in a sack before heartlessly dumping it on the refuse dump.
