Plateau Crisis: Ahmed Musa calls for an end to violence after Cameroon showdown

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, penned a heartfelt message to Nigerians after a triumphant 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Saturday night.

The Nigerian team secured a remarkable win in the Round of 16 clash, with Ademola Lookman scoring twice, once in each half, against the Indomitable Lions.

Victor Osimhen’s breakaway and precise pass set up Lookman for the first goal, a moment that etched itself into the history of the three-time African champions.

Expressing his joy, Musa shared, “Celebrating the Super Eagles’ journey to the AFCON quarter-finals – a testament to the power of unity on the football field. This picture reflects the genuine happiness we all share.”

Musa emphasized the unity found in the beautiful game, transcending tribal and religious differences.

He urged everyone to see this victory as a reminder of the strength inherent in coming together.

In the face of the challenges Nigeria confronts, Musa called upon the spirit of football to bridge divides and cultivate harmony.

He advocated for using the positive energy from sports to combat negativity, put an end to unnecessary conflict and violence, and embrace the love that sports bring.

Musa’s message resonates with a plea to unite for peace, goals, and a brighter future, urging everyone to join hands in fostering a sense of togetherness.
