Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, recently appointed and bestowed the Staff of Office upon the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Mohammed Anaje.

The previous Ohinoyi, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Ibrahim, passed away in October last year, leaving the throne vacant.

During the ceremony at the Ohinoyi Palace in Okene, Kogi Central Senatorial District, Governor Bello emphasized the importance of unity, development, and the well-being of the people.

He expressed satisfaction in fulfilling the crucial task of appointing and installing the Ohinoyi and urged the new monarch to prioritize the safety and security of the community.

“I want to call on all of you, the sons and daughters of Ebiraland, that we should all come together and rally around our Ohinoyi of Ebiraland for the greatness of our land,” he said.

Governor Bello called upon the people of Ebiraland to rally around their new leader, emphasizing the significance of collective efforts for the prosperity of the land.

He mentioned that Alhaji Anajeh was chosen by God out of 70 qualified contestants for the throne.

Acknowledging the sportsmanship and maturity displayed by the contestants, Governor Bello highlighted the inclusiveness expected from the newly installed Ohinoyi.

He stressed that the monarch should represent both Islam and Christianity and unite people from different clans and districts within Ebiraland.

Assuring continued support, even after leaving office, Governor Bello pledged to stand by the new Ohinoyi to offer assistance whenever needed.

In his post-installation speech, Ohinoyi Anaje expressed humility and gratitude, acknowledging Governor Bello’s commitment to Kogi State’s development and the well-being of Ebiraland.

Ohinoyi Anaje recognized the potential economic benefits for Ebiraland and the nation with the revival of Ajaokuta Steel Company and Itakpe Iron Ore Mining Company.

He also urged the Federal Government to consider establishing the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

the installation ceremony marked a new chapter for Ebiraland, with the appointed Ohinoyi pledging to serve with integrity and gratitude while Governor Bello assured ongoing support for the monarch and the community’s development.
