At the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUT Minna), 187 graduating students have achieved first-class degrees, as shared by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, during a press conference on Tuesday discussing the 31st and 32nd combined convocation activities.

Scheduled for February 1, 2024, the convocation ceremony encompasses the academic sessions of 2020/2021 and 2022/2023.

A total of 7,312 students are set to graduate, with 2,190 securing second-class upper, 3,410 earning second-class lower, and 1,483 obtaining third-class degrees. Additionally, 42 students will receive pass degrees.

In this year’s convocation, 3,867 and 3,445 graduates from the 2020/2021 and 2022/2023 sessions, respectively, totaling 7,312 graduands, will be conferred with first degrees.

Furthermore, the university will award 120 Post Graduate Diplomas, 955 Master’s Degrees, and 150 Doctorate Degrees (PhD).

To address challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has embraced e-learning and e-teaching technologies for 100-level students.

The adoption of online platforms for teaching, e-tests, and examinations has positioned the institution effectively.

Professor Kuta highlighted the university’s consistent standing among Nigerian and international institutions.

In 2022 and 2023, researchers from various schools and departments secured a National Research Fund (NRF) grant of N844,597,376.75 sponsored by TETfund.

Moreover, the university, in collaboration with 11 international institutions, secured a five-million Euro grant from the European Commission for the ‘EU-AU Partnership for Resilient, Inclusive, and Safe Food System for Everyone’ (UP-RISE) project.
