President Bola Tinubu is reportedly feeling pressure to replace his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, due to new allegations of corruption.
Sources say Gbajabiamila is under investigation for his alleged involvement in corrupt practices related to the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) during Ahmed Kuru’s leadership.
According to a report by Special Investigator Jim Obazee, Gbajabiamila is accused of benefiting from Kuru’s actions, particularly involving properties in Ikoyi, during his time as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The report also suggests that Gbajabiamila played a crucial role in ensuring Kuru’s continued leadership at AMCON.

A source in Aso Rock mentioned, “President Bola Tinubu is under pressure from political associates, including Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, who has benefited from Ahmed Kuru’s generosity with Ikoyi properties.”
The source added that Gbajabiamila had been blocking Kuru’s removal as AMCON’s Chief Executive, raising concerns about his influence over two terms of a democratically elected president.
An independent investigator quoted in the report highlighted the limitations of the Special Investigating team, urging the government to hand over the cases to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The investigator emphasized the need to remove Ahmed Kuru from office and make changes within the Central Bank to prevent obstruction of the investigation.
The report suggests that without such actions, individuals like Yemi Cardoso, the current CBN Governor, may remain in a compromised position within Emefiele’s network in the CBN.
