Police arrest kidnapper, rescue victim in Abuja

A gentleman named Suleiman Sabo, who had been kidnapped, was successfully rescued by the diligent operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command. 

The rescue operation took place in Sauka, along Airport Road, Abuja, on a Sunday morning around 11:30 am.

Despite sustaining injuries from the ordeal, the victim is now under the care of medical professionals.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, provided details in a statement on the incident.

According to her, the FCT police officers from Iddo Divisional Headquarters executed the rescue as part of their ongoing efforts to eliminate criminal activities in the FCT.

The statement revealed that a suspect, identified as Muhammad Abel, a 32-year-old individual from Kogi state, was apprehended during the operation.

Additionally, law enforcement recovered a LAR rifle along with 10 rounds of live ammunition from the apprehended suspect.

Suleiman Sabo, the rescued victim, is currently undergoing medical treatment. The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna G. Garba, emphasized the commitment of the police command to eradicate criminality in all forms within the FCT.

CP Garba assured residents of the FCT that the police force is dedicated to maintaining peace and urged them to promptly report any suspicious activities through emergency lines provided.
