A University of Jos student named Julius Nember is currently in critical condition at a hospital, reportedly stabbed by a female neighbor. The incident occurred on the morning of January 12, 2024.
According to information shared by Facebook user Krayzeetee Atuu, who spoke with the victim’s family, the trouble began when the female suspect, also a UNIJOS student, accused Julius and his friend of making noise.
In response, she allegedly locked them in Julius’s room with a padlock from the outside. Later, she gave someone else the key to open the door after Julius and his friend expressed their displeasure.
Upon confronting the suspect about her actions, Julius was allegedly stabbed in the chest with a knife.
Atuu shared details from Julius’s sister-in-law, explaining that the doctors had already removed four bags of blood from his internally bleeding chest, and he was being prepared for surgery.
The incident unfolded when Julius and his friend, along with the female neighbor, were in his room.
The neighbor, believing they were making noise, used a padlock to lock them inside and left. Subsequently, after opening the door, Julius and his friend approached the neighbor to inquire about her behavior.
Instead of explaining, she reportedly emerged with a knife, stabbed Julius in the chest, and retreated back into her room.
At present, the alleged assailant is in police custody. The Facebook post concluded with a plea for prayers for Julius and a reminder to be cautious, highlighting the unpredictability of people in the world.
