The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Adamawa State has initiated the distribution of relief supplies provided by the federal government, reaching out to over 1000 residents.Â
During the launch of the distribution, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza, the State Chairman of CAN, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the generous gesture.
He urged authorities handling distribution in other regions to ensure that the aid reaches the intended recipients.
President Bola Tinubu’s administration has consistently prioritized supporting the less privileged by implementing interventions and programs aimed at alleviating the challenges resulting from the removal of the fuel subsidy.
In Adamawa, religious bodies are actively involved in the distribution of items received from the federal government, intending to provide relief to those facing economic hardships.
Bishop Dam Mamza, in his statement during the distribution kickoff, mentioned that bags of rice were received from the federal government for distribution to the less privileged.
This initiative seeks to cushion the impact of the current economic challenges arising from the fuel subsidy removal. Beneficiaries were selected from various churches, representing the five blocks of CAN.
While appreciating the federal government’s support, Bishop Dam Mamza emphasized the importance of transparency in the distribution process.
He called on the government to monitor those responsible for distributing relief items and palliatives, ensuring that assistance reaches those in need.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Adamawa CAN for the transparency observed in the distribution of the items.
The ongoing efforts of the federal government to alleviate the sufferings of the people are anticipated to receive support from other concerned stakeholders in the future.
