VP Shettima inaugurates newly designed governor’s office complex in Kano

On Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima officiated the official opening ceremony of the recently overhauled Governor’s Office complex in Kano.

This significant event took place at the Government House in Kano and marked the completion of a substantial renovation project, the cost of which amounted to millions of naira.

The refurbishment aimed to enhance the infrastructure and functionality of the office, reflecting a considerable investment in the improvement of governmental facilities for the benefit of the people of Kano.

This building includes a revamped council chamber, an executive conference hall, and a VIP lounge equipped with modern office facilities.

Originally constructed in 1967 by the first Military Administrator of the state, the late Commissioner of Police, Audu Bako, the complex has now undergone significant improvements.

The event saw the presence and assistance of Governor Abba Yusuf, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibril, Senator Kawu Sumaila, and Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo.

Vice President Shettima praised Governor Yusuf’s dedication to ensuring the timely completion of the project.

He highlighted the importance of outfitting the governor’s office with state-of-the-art equipment, creating a conducive work environment for the governor and staff to operate efficiently and deliver good governance.

“I congratulate Gov. Yusuf and members of the executive council for a job well done,” the Vice President declared.

While paying a visit, the Vice President, Speaker, and Deputy Senate President conveyed their sympathies to Governor Yusuf, the residents of Kano, and the relatives of the recently deceased former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’abba.

Mr. Na’abba sadly passed away on the same day of their visit, prompting the dignitaries to offer their condolences and express their shared grief for the loss experienced by the people of Kano and the family of the departed former Speaker.
