Borno First Lady Distributes Food Items to 600 Christian women and Widows for Christmas

Borno State’s First Lady, Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, extended her generosity towards Christian widows and others in need during the Christmas festivities at the Multipurpose Hall of the Government House in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

The aim was to ensure that Christian families could enjoy a fulfilling Christmas celebration.

The distributed gifts include essentials such as a 25Kg bag of rice, a gallon of palm oil, and a cash gift for each beneficiary.

In expressing her heartfelt wishes, the First Lady conveyed merry Christmas and an early happy new year to all Christian faithfuls in the State and beyond.

During the event, the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajjia Zuwaira Gambo, welcomed attendees and lauded the First Lady for her consistent acts of kindness over the years.

These acts were recognized as being driven by passion, love, and the promotion of unity among the entire populace of the state.

Madam Asabe, Chairperson of the Borno State Widows Association, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her thoughtful gesture towards the Christian community during this festive period.

She further assured, “We want to assure you that, by the grace of God, the celebrations will be marked peacefully in the State.”

This effort not only showcases the First Lady’s dedication to helping those who require assistance but also underscores the essence of togetherness and kindness during the festive period in Borno State.
