President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Abuja for Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The President departed from the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in the early hours of Monday 11th December 2023.
The trip marks the president’s first visit to the North-Eastern region of the country since assumption of office in May.
Tinubu is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour at the Nigerian Army Annual Conference.
Earlier, the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, has announced the details of the opening ceremony.
Among other things, the event will feature an address to the troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, inspection of the ongoing Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Maiduguri, and the laying of the foundation stone for Headquarters 7 Division.
