Ekiti to overhaul State capital with flyover

The Government of Ekiti State, led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the construction of a 1-kilometre flyover bridge from Union Bank in Ajilosun to First Bank at Okeyinmi in Ado Ekiti.

A statement by the government said the flyover project was “initially proposed to span from Irona to Mathew (Saint Paul); however, the project underwent restructuring. The construction will now commence from Ajilosun (Union Bank) and conclude at Okeyinmi (First Bank) in Ado-Ekiti. The projected completion timeline for the construction is 24 months.

“This approval also includes the rehabilitation of the Ikere-Ise-Emure road.

“These projects are integral to the government’s agenda to rapidly enhance infrastructure in the state, alleviate traffic congestion, promote socio-economic activities, and bolster overall road safety for both people and property.

“The State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, announced these developments during a briefing with journalists in Ado Ekiti.

“The Government of Ekiti State continues to lead as a model sub-national government with a steadfast commitment to creating an attractive destination for living, working, and investment,” the statement said.
