Jumia Nigeria Gets New CEO

Jumia, a leading e-commerce platform, has named Sunil Natraj as the CEO for Nigeria. Natraj will assume his new position on Monday, January 1st, 2024. Sunil Natraj will take over from Massimiliano Spalazzi, who will step down from his position on December 31st, 2023.
Francis Dufay, the CEO of Jumia Group, expressed gratitude to Massimiliano for his 11-year tenure at Jumia and extended congratulations to Sunil for his new role. Sunil joined Jumia in 2022, initially serving as the VP of Sales and Marketing in Lagos. He later oversaw Jumia Express logistics and held the position of CEO for Jumia Ghana.
Before joining Jumia, Sunil amassed over 11 years of experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector across Africa, collaborating with notable brands like GBFoods. His professional journey included over a decade spent in Ghana, working with multinational food-producing companies in Europe and Africa.
Educationally, Sunil holds a degree in IT Engineering and an MBA from The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. In his new role, Sunil said he aims to lead Jumia in Nigeria, highlighting the transformative potential of e-commerce for Africa’s economy.
He intends to prioritize customer satisfaction, secure payment systems, and foster strong partnerships to propel Jumia towards achieving significant milestones.
