Appeal Court Judgment Erroneous Says Nasarawa’ PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has described as erroneous the recent Appeal Court Judgment that overturned the verdict of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and returned Governor Abdullahi A. Sule as elected Governor of Nasarawa State.

While addressing allegations that the state’s party Campaign Director, Labaran Maku, and Director of Media and Publicity, Mike Omeri, were seen with Governor Sule celebrating his victory at the Appeal Court yesterday, a statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mike Omeri, debunked the report as baseless and mischievous, adding that the PDP in the state remains resolute in reclaiming its mandate.

The statement explained that even as the party rolled up its sleeves to seek redress from the Supreme Court, it urged the media to desist from disseminating unverified information.

Meanwhile, in an earlier reaction to the Appeal Court judgment, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has appealed to the opposition to partner with his government for the love of the state.

Recall that the legal tussle between APC’s Abdullahi A. Sule and PDP’s David Emmanuel Ombugadu received a different twist on Thursday, 23 November 2023, when the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja, after an earlier reserved judgment, upheld the election of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule as against the Tribunal Judgment that ruled in favor of David Emmanuel Ombugadu of the PDP.
