Omawumi takes a different turn in her new album ‘More’

Additionally, she blends a melody from an indigenous call and response form with a classic Afrobeats arrangement for the feel-good song “YOLO,” where she sings about the happy life alongside legendary musicians Timi Dakolo and Cobhams Asuquo.

Omawumi is a well-known R&B singer who has proven her amazing voice in a variety of genres. On the song “More,” she shines in dancehall, highlife, and folk music. Her vocals on a Reggae record where her amazing adlibs outshine her clever writing are stunning on ‘Try,’ as she discusses the hurt and disappointment from a relationship that doesn’t offer her enough to stick around.
