Airport Taxi Services Suspended At Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport

—

With immediate effect, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has made the decision to suspend the airport taxi service at the esteemed Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. This measure has been taken due to unresolved factional disputes among the car hire operators, which have regrettably been causing disruptions to the smooth operations of the airport car hire services.

In a statement issued by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, it was conveyed that the organization seeks to inform the general public about the suspension of the airport car hire service at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The ongoing factional dispute among the car hire operators has significantly impacted the efficiency and effectiveness of airport car hire services, leaving FAAN with no option but to implement this temporary suspension.

FAAN recognizes the importance of providing reliable transportation options for airport users and passengers, and as such, they have advised all travelers to seek secure alternative means of transportation or make use of e-hailing services for their arrivals and departures from the airport until the dispute is resolved.

While the suspension may cause inconvenience to esteemed passengers, airport users, and the general public, FAAN believes it is necessary to take this step to ensure safety and smooth operations at the airport. The organization apologizes for any inconvenience that may arise during this period and reassures everyone that they are working diligently to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible.

The affected car hire services will resume promptly once the factional differences among the operators have been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved. FAAN remains committed to providing excellent service and ensuring a seamless experience for all airport users and travelers.

In the meantime, the airport authorities are working closely with relevant stakeholders to mediate and find an amicable resolution to the disputes. The focus is on restoring the normalcy of the car hire services at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport as soon as possible.
