Man remanded for defiling co-worker’s three-year-old daughter

A  Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, remanded a 42-year-old man, Ekene Agha, to Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl.
The police arraigned Agha on two counts of indecent assault and defilement.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Peter Nwaka, did not take the defendant’s plea.
Nwaka ordered Agha to be remanded in the correctional centre until March 15, for the Director of Public Prosecutions’ advice.
The prosecutor, Inspector Thomas Nurudeen, told the court that the offence was committed on January 6, 2023, around 3.30 pm at No 40 Ago Palace Road, Okota, Lagos State.
He said the offences were punishable under Sections 261 and 135 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
It was gathered that the suspect and the victim’s mother are co-workers.
